Everyone likes to bad-mouth white rice, but not this girl!
You’ll never go back to average once you’ve tasted this more nutritious upgrade!
- 1 cup white rice
- 1 cup green tea
- 1 cup water
- 1-2 stalks of lemongrass
- In a saucepan, pour one cup of green tea and one cup water for each one cup of rice. (This will make one cup of cooked rice, as you double liquid to dry rice.)
- Then, add 1-2 stalks of(washed) lemongrass- just let them float around in there.
- Bring to a boil; then, cover and simmer for about 18 minutes, or until all liquid is absorbed and fluff with a fork.
Lemongrass stalks can be used in your dish, if you’d like to slice them, just be aware that boiling liquid will likely have accumulated in the center of stalks, take caution when slicing. Or, they can be plated as garnish.
Use this as a delicious rice base for curries, stir-fries, okra dishes, or eat as an enjoyable treat on its own!
